2020 Chess 



An Exhilarating National Team (four players) Rapidplay Competition!



 This competition is a one-day rapid play event, with 20 minutes for each player to make their moves per game.  The entry price is just £10 for adults and £8 for students and under-eighteens. 

We aim to raise as much money as possible for Oxfam this season! 


 The qualifiers in various UK regional cities will determine who goes through to the 2020 Grand Final, where the best '20/20' Chess Team will be awared their title; with cash prizes medals, books, gift vouchers and trophies up for grabs along the way. You can enter as many qualifiers as you like to maximise your chance of going through!


Saturday 19th October: Yorkshire Qualifier, Leeds:

Saturday 30th November: Scotland Qualifier, Edinburgh

GRAND FINAL: Saturday 1st February 2020 Birmingham


  We've had over 1000 players take part from a dozen clubs, schools and over fifty different universities from right across the UK as well as being featured in the Yorkshire Post, British Chess Magazine and CHESS and supported by the Mayor of York and Right Honourable Lord Lyndon Harrison
